Golf

Overview

Southwest Florida’s abundance of beautiful weather allows Foxfire members to enjoy golfing all year long. Our community offers 27 challenging and enjoyable golf holes on three 9-hole courses (Blue, Red and Silver). Each year the golf course accommodates approximately 65,000 rounds. Many of our members are “snowbirds” who travel from their northern homes each winter to enjoy the warm weather, making the months of January through April our busiest times for golf. Foxfire has five tee boxes to support all skill levels and has been described by many members as “a golf course one can play every day of the week.”

Courses

Our Blue Course, “The Original Back Nine,” is one where strategy and patience are required for all who play. Each of the nine holes has water in play for those who enjoy risk-reward challenges. You will never get bored playing golf at Foxfire – especially on the Blue Course.

Our Red Course demands accuracy for both tee and approach shots throughout the entire nine holes. From the tee, water hazards are strategically placed for golfers of every level. In addition, each of the nine holes has at least one greenside bunker.

Our Silver Course is sculpted from native Florida vegetation – nature at its finest. Although water hazards and bunkering provide challenges on all of our courses, the interesting and beautiful preserve areas of the Silver Course add magnificent definition to the golf course layout. This course is certainly picturesque, but don’t get caught daydreaming because there is plenty of bite for golfers of all skills.

Practice Facilities

Our driving range has natural grass (Celebration Bermuda) and a modern artificial tee-line for practice.  In addition, there are five target greens for golfers to simulate on-course scenarios. It is conveniently located near the Clubhouse, Pro Shop and Grille Room patio. The driving range is open daily from sunrise until sunset.

Our short-game area features two putting greens and a separate pitching and chipping green. Greenside bunker practice is also available at the pitching and chipping area. All of our practice greens are grassed with Tif-Eagle Bermuda Grass, the same grass used on our golf course greens.

Foxfire’s dress codes for men and women apply to both the golf course and the driving range. The dress codes are also the same for junior players.  If there is any doubt about proper attire, call the Pro Shop.  Please do not ask the staff to make dress code exceptions, as enforcement must be done uniformly.
